It’s time to crank up another “best of” poll and as I sit here and write this, all I have on my mind is a big, juicy cheeseburger.
It’s one of those moments where you are daydreaming like Wimpy from Popeye with thoughts of greasy beef patties covered with a mound of grated cheddar and smushed between two hot out of the oven fresh buns only to wake up and find drool on your keyboard…
No? You don’t have those moments? Ah well, more burgers for me then.
To those of you who do daydream in smell o’ vision though, who has the best burger and/or cheeseburger in Louisiana?
Usual rules apply, if you don’t see your top choice, comment on the post and I will add them in!

What about Frost Stop?

This is by far the toughest poll yet. How do you choose? So many good ones. What about Camelia Grill? The Bulldog? The Wagon Wheel in Lafayette? Its going to take me a while to decide this one.
One note about Frostop. I’ve eaten at 3 Frostops and I have to say, though the rootbeer is the same, the burgers are not. The Frostop in Thibodaux blows the rest away. (Just my experience)

Red Eye Grill in the warehouse district in New Orleans. Not the one on Vets. Best I’ve ever had. Judice Inn is tough to beat too!

Brewbacher’s in Baton Rouge is my top spot for Burgers! I haven’t found any place in Houma/Thibodaux area that matches it. Although Ground Pati does come close on some days.
Also Mason’s Grill in Baton Rouge for their Shrimp Burger (tastes better than it sounds) that was featured in Travel Channel Magazine
As for Lunch Basket in Houma – didn’t know they sold Burgers. chicken tenders are what they’re most famous for around here!

Judice Inn has the greatest hamburgers. Always fresh and seasoned just right and great prices! There is a reason they have been around for 60 years!

Yo Mama’s burgers are better than Port of Call. In Metairie Lakeview Harbor and Lager’s both put out a good hamburger. Judice Inn is the place in Lafayette. Bayou Country club used to have the best hamburgers in Thibodaux.

Port-A-Call best burger I’ve ever had. However, Pop’s Black Pot in LFT is serious too! Fresh, made to order on dat jalapeno cheddar bun…actually had one for lunch today-ordered it rare, and it was perfect. No offense, but I can get an overcooked happy meal anywhere, not just Judice Inn! Ballou, come to LFT and burger is on me at Pop’s!!!

Tough poll… Southside has some of the best burgers for sure… my favorite would have to be Max’s pool on the corner of Pinhook and Kaliste Saloom in Lafayette. Chili cheese burgers are rediculous!

I have been on a perpetual “Worlds Greatest Cheeseburger” roadtrip for almost 30 yrs.! I believe THE QUESTION has no answer!!! I have experienced most of the choices listed and have never been disappointed and I have had other best cheeseburgers from other places. To date, one of my favorite Sunday morning cheeseburgers is at Jim’s Place in Ventress (La). It’s an all round great basic no B.S. cheeseburger that likes you as much as you like it!!!

Mike and Brett, tacked on Bonnie Bell’s and Jim’s Place for y’all.
I haven’t been to Bonnie Bell’s since the move to the new location, but I am sure it is still REALLY tasty.
Jim’s place is now officially on my map now too.

Green Oaks Lounge, 400 Guilbeau Road in Lafayette. The best kept secret in town. They have the best homemade burgers. They are large and juicy and have the perfect amount of spice. You will not be sorry. Very casual atmosphere and to top that cold beer too ! What more can you ask for ?

I vote Port-O-Call. But, you really shouldn’t count me in because I have only been to two places Port O Call and Bonnie Bell’s. Both are great, but I have to go Port-O-Call…Now I am hungry. Maybe I should go to Bonnie Bells just to be sure.

It’s too hard for me to pick just one. and I have had one from each of the places on the above list except 4. But I would include Cajan’s Eatery of Scott, LA, Bud’s Broiler Merairie-New Orleans area, EAT French Quarter – New Orleans, LA & Bon Creole located in New Iberia, LA.

I will choose Morvant’s Bar (Youngsville) because it’s delicious there. A unique ingredients. Love it!
