A Little Taste of Heaven
Several years ago Thibodaux lost a legend in the world of baking. I can remember as a child walking into the door, smelling the wonderful aroma of almond extract, putting my hands on the glass display cases, and choosing the perfect dessert to take home from CITY BAKERY. Although many have tried to imitate and recreate the wonderful petit fours and cakes this bakery served for so many years, few have delivered — until now.
May I now introduce – BELLE’S BAKERY. The idea began when young women from the Houma-Thibodaux area found their love for baking last summer. It all started with cakes – they would decorate 2-tiered cakes and share them with friends and family for birthday parties and family events. Next the girls moved on to mouth watering cheesecakes, the most popular being the peanut butter and jelly flavored. Yes you heard me right — Peanut butter and jelly cheesecake !!!! Trust me on this one, it is a must try. Cakes for all occasions as well as many other tasty treats are also available from Belle’s Bakery. But the girls’ most desired and demanded treat is what I like to call “a little taste of heaven,” also known as a petit four.
Although the two started off baking for friends and family and occasionally bringing desserts to work for co-workers to try, they have received enough praise and encouragement from those who have been privileged to taste their wonderful creations that they have finally decided to take their baking to a new level and open for business to the public.

I have had the pleasure of tasting these delectable little treats, and they really are “little tastes of heaven”. They conjure up more than memories of City Bakery for me though. They make me think of the many times that I have waited patiently at wedding receptions, lingering around the cake table anticipating that moment when I would get a slice of luscious almond delight. I am a wedding cake lover (and now petit four lover too)!
If you are fond of mouth-watering, moist cake, and heavenly almond flavor, you don’t have to wait for your next wedding invitation…Belle’s Bakery Petit Fours have arrived!

I love the little round petit fours too but the BROWNIES are awesome. They do not compare to City Bakery; they are so much better in my book. They are very chocolatey and moist and chewy. Since I am a choco fan, they are my favorite!!
Can you do a chocolate doberge???

I recently tasted the brownies, and they are absolutely divine! I literally could not stop eating them. They are supremely moist with chocolate chunks in them, and are cut in small rectangles, so you always feel that you can eat “just one more” and it won’t hurt!
