We went to Commander’s for Easter Brunch to celebrate a new engagement and a 5th Circuit Court of Appeals election win and I’m giving it a 9/10.

Garlic Bread – best I’ve ever had. Melted in your mouth. We went through probably 5 servings during the meal because it was also GREAT to dip into all the sauces we had left in our plates. 10/10 only because I can’t go higher…

Chef’s sample of poached crab fingers served cold over 5 pepper pepper-jelly. Really good, don’t know what the sauce was on top but overall 9/10.

Appetizer – Tasso stuffed fried shrimp in a crystal hot sauce beurre blanc over 5 pepper pepper-jelly. AWESOME and it was the best part of my meal. I wanted to lick the plate it was so good!!!  10/10 Here’s the recipe.

Entree – Beef tournedos with whiskey roasted onions and mushrooms over pureed French potatoes. Really good. could almost cut the steak with a fork. 9/10.

Dessert – Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream. Pecan pie is my favorite and this was top notch. Also, the pecans on top were candied which I’ve never seen on a pecan pie before. Great touch. 8/10.

Atmosphere- 10/10 also, I LOVE that you can just walk through the kitchen… Screw it, I’m changing this to 15/10.

Also, the wait staff was unbelievable. I’ve never seen that many people waiting on tables.
All this for $41 + tax and tip.

Also, other items that I tried: Gumbo (a little thick but really good 8/10) and Bread Pudding Soufflé (AWESOME, 10/10).
