I’ll be making my first trip ever to New Orleans in July. I now know at least one place I’ll be sure to stop and eat. Thanks for this. Can’t wait to try the chili cheese fries.

I’ve eaten at Camelia’s since 1979. Best place to get a meal at 3 am so you don’t go to sleep on a stomach full of angry alcoholic kickboxing dwarves. Or are they open that late anymore? Hummingbird Grill closed long ago. Go review Mandina’s for the Trout Meniere and turtle soup au sherry. Yum, yum, yum.

Sorry to hear that you have had to settle for O’Henry’s. I have found that the best times to go are early in the morning or a little before lunch time. Try this and let me know if you were successful and your thoughts on the food.

I’m sad/embarassed/ashamed to say I’ve lived in Nola for two years and still haven’t eaten at Camelia Grill. The reason: I’m always slightly hung over when I try to go, and the line outside in the hot sun just kills me. Sadly, as a result, I’ve eaten at O’Henry’s several times. Can’t recommend it.
